Shakeeta (Mama)

I'm a 25yo WOHM whose degree is in Health Education & Promotion  but works in IT (go figure!).  Above all this, I've figured out that my life calling is being a doula & midwife. I've always loved babies but it wasn't until I had 1 of my own that this fire was really ignited inside me. Besides babies and mommies, I love learning about green living and how to reduce my impact on the world, whether that is through cloth diapers, all-natural cleaners, or buying a hybrid car (which we hope to do soon).  Overall, I'm a student of life and I'm constantly learning all sorts of new things!


Brad (Daddy)

Brad is a 29yo college grad who now works at his alma mater! We met towards the end of my freshman year & have been inseparable ever since! Brad is the total package (to me anyway): he's a man's man who can fix all the stuff that breaks around the house but he's not above doing crafty projects or whipping up a great meal.

Mackenzie (Baby M)

Mackenzie is the diva of the household! She blessed our family on January 29th, 2010 after Mama was in labor for 29 hours (yikes!) but she's definitely worth it.  She is 3 going on 13! She is full of attitude but can be the sweetest baby ever at the same time.  She has her tomboy side too and loves to play rough with Daddy but doesn't like to get dirty (hence the diva part).  To us, she's the perfect little girl that we wouldn't trade for the world!

Mason (Baby M #2) is our newest sweet pea and couldn't be more adorable! He's almost 9 months and is a full-blown crawler which is great for him but terrible for us because you blink and he'll be across the room! He is my adorable born-at-home-after-40-hours baby (on April 22) which makes me advocate for natural/home birth even more! He's beautiful/perfect/amazing/all those lovely words moms say about their babies :)
